Artist Statement

My practice is inspired by the natural world and the ephemeral marks it leaves behind. I use watercolours to create, anatomical skeletons, animal studies, detailed botanical studies, and illustrative watercolour collages. My central themes involve nature, mortality, stillness, fragility, and life cycles. I do not see life as something that ends, but rather I focus on the cyclical nature of the natural world and how everything flows into one another. By carefully rendering delicate imagery, I hope to draw viewers into an intimate experience, one they can interpret and to which they can quietly relate.
